brodos.net at the BRODOS AG roadshows

This year, the telecommunications distributor based in South Germany has welcomed roughly 890 retailers to its roadshows in Berlin, Hamburg, Leverkusen and Nuremberg - an 11 percent increase in visitors compared to the previous year. The retailers were offered information on new products, services and features in a wide range of areas. The concept of holding roadshows in stadiums once more proved successful, with not only the BayArena in Leverkusen, which was used for the first time this year, meeting with approval. Each roadshow opened with a tour of the stadium, giving visitors an impressive insight into the world of professional football.

Dominik Brokelmann gave a detailed insight into the future with his keynote speech on “Multichannel and the Specialist Retailers of the Future.” Mutlichannel is a new buzzword, but hardly anyone knows what exactly it means. Brodos offers two approaches for successful multi-channeling: The telecommunications distributor offers retailers the option of having their store registered in Google Places, the directory of the search-engine giant. brodos.net, the POS system from the cloud, ensures that the retailer can be found online.
Another option Brodos offers retailers is to have themselves listed in the directory belonging to their cooperation partner StoreShip. StoreShip allows end customers to shop directly from the manufacturer’s website, before collecting and paying for the goods at their local retailer. Authorised retailers are integrated into the multichannel process, effortlessly benefitting from online business at no additional expense.

New Brodos shop modules allowing retailers to display products safely and attractively in store were also presented. As part of the “smart home” marketing concept, for example, Brodos offers an entire living room including a couch as a display area for selling all devices available on the market for the networked home. Your television set becomes a telephone, your tablet a remote control or your smart phone a games console. Another important point on the agenda was “Brodos in-store TV”, the ingeniously simple new way of providing digital advertising, showing end customers moving pictures and offers directly in store: easy and always up to date.

my-eXtra dealers at the roadshows were also pleasantly surprised by the stand presenting ContentCard, the sister company which specialises in distributing virtual products. Germany’s independent mobile phone chain is going to start selling iTunes ContentCards throughout Germany in November. All POSA (Point Of Sale Activation Cards) are entirely worthless until activated at the checkout. The benefit for the retailers: no storage risk, no upfront investment for goods and optimal protection against theft.
