RETAILERS ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT NEW ONLINE KIOSK - FULLY FUNCTIONAL INDIVIDUAL ONLINE SHOP
Last week, the first eight retailers attended the Online Kiosk power workshop at our company headquarters in Baiersdorf. All participants agreed very quickly that a good online shop is an absolute must nowadays, as more and more customers prefer to order directly online. This is certainly due on the one hand to the large product range and the good prices, but also to the convenient opening times of an online shop, available 24/7. Christian Dotzauer from Kommunikation Center Herpersdorf in Nuremberg shared this point of view: “Yes, of course, on the internet I can buy what I want quickly at night after work.”
The new Online Kiosk is an online shop offering exactly the same product range as the Kiosk. Together with the responsive design, which adjusts the display automatically to the respective end device, it has two outstanding features:
- All articles are kept up to date at all times: All of the over 150,000 products are kept completely up to date at all times, together with all product descriptions including pictures and videos, at no extra effort or expense for the retailer. New material is added automatically when the system is updated. In addition, all prices are brought up to date centrally overnight. As a result, prices are always kept up to date, and thanks to special calculation methods, always able to compete with prices offered online. Linked products are also saved automatically, for example accessories or different options.
- Fully customisable: Each retailer has his own online shop. All he needs to do is simply incorporate his own homepage elements (About us / Store / News / etc.).

The retailers were then given their log-in credentials for their new Online Kiosk, and launched into the altogether just under three hour long workshop. A wide range of different functions was explained, and retailers were given assistance to customise a large part of their online shop there and then.
After the workshop session, all partners were very good at working with and setting up the Online Kiosk and had already entered a lot of their own content. This ranged from “About Us” pages to linking up to Facebook (having news from Facebook shown directly on the website) to maps and directions from Google or listing the services offered by the shop. Many of our partners praised how easy the system is to use.
Retailers were also struck by how remarkably easy it is to place orders. As soon as a customer clicks on “order to store” in the retailer’s online shop, the cogs start to move in the background. Brodos takes care of the entire process. From sending an order confirmation to the customer and the respective shop to forwarding the order to the respective supplier, tracking the product and sending information by e-mail to the customer as soon as the required product is ready to be collected in store. The retailer then collects payment for the article as normal.
LOCAL HERO MARKETING
The last part of the workshop focussed on advertising the Online Kiosk. Whether by creating an end customer magazine which can be taillored to suit the retailer’s needs, issuing a newsletter, distributing coupons or using social media, there are a lot of ways retailers can advertise their new online shop. The focus should always be on the regional identity of the retailer, which gives him the edge over anonymous e-tailers.Ralf Greulich, my-eXtra Ansbach City: “Nowadays, it is particularly important for retailers to show a local presence. People then realise that the retailer is competent and has everything.”
Everyone present agreed: It is time for us to launch an attack and win back a piece of the cake the internet trade has already grasped away from us. Theo Lutsch warmly recommended the workshop: “The day was very informative. We retailers have the know-how, and service is our greatest strength.”
