We have been storing our private pictures, music and videos in the “cloud” for some time now. Our files are available on all end devices such as tablet, smartphone and computer at all times, no matter where we are. In the professional area, services such as software as a service are also gaining ground. SAP, for example, the largest software manufacturer in Europe, has also  started out into the age of the cloud. Taking the example of enterprise resource planning, I would like to show the advantages entailed for the user by transferring software into the cloud.

ACESS FROM ANYWHERE

Thanks to cloud computing technology, the functions of the brodos.net ERP system such as analyses, ticket system etc are accessible from any web-enabled PC, laptop or mobile phone - no matter where in the world you currently are. Accordingly, you can access all relevant data live from wherever you are, the only prerequisite is an active internet connection.

ERP is one area where it is particularly important that you can check how business is doing at any time, whether from your home office or in another branch. By storing data centrally in the cloud, everything can be monitored and managed even when you are on the move.


AUTOMATIC UPDATES

With the updates from the cloud initiated automatically by the server, all new functions are available to all users straightaway. All your ERP data is always up to date without you having to install any updates or patches.

The updates for the central product catalogue are particularly important. In the brodos.net product database more than 150,000 products from the marketplace are already entered ready for sale and kept up to date at all times, together with all detailed information and product images. This means that you save a lot of time entering and keeping products up to date, allowing you to concentrate instead on selling.


NO NEED TO INSTALL SOFTWARE

The era of software CD’s and complicated downloads is a thing of the past thanks to cloud software. As brodos.net is an online ERP system, you do not need to install any elaborate programmes. All you need to do is log in to the browser and then you can get started straightaway. The minimum requirement is simply a web-enabled device.

SECURITY

All ERP data is saved centrally on the servers, ie in the cloud, keeping it safe from computer crashes. Daily back-ups ensure that everything is saved in the latest version.

But what happens if the internet connection is not available one time and you cannot connect to the cloud? For this emergency we have developed an additional POS software for brodos.net which can be installed locally. This means that you can continue to take payment as normal, even if no internet connection is available. As soon as you are online again, all transaction details such as sales, revenue, deposits, withdrawals, newly entered products etc. are immediately synchronised with the brodos.net servers.
