Markus Rieker, Director System Sales

We collaborate with Brightstar, a leader in innovation and diversified services for the wireless industry, to bring to market our innovative omni-channel solution “The Connected Store.” The Brodos.net in-store “kiosk” will be unveiled to an international audience for the first time during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which is currently taking place in Barcelona and goes until 25th February.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN BRODOS AND BRIGHTSTAR DURING MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS

We and Brightstar will work together to integrate the “offline” (bricks and mortar) and “online" worlds in product distribution. The first in this collaboration will be Mobile World Congress, one of the industry’s most preeminent events. At the pavilion, Brightstar will present selected elements of our “Connected Store” solution to Brightstar’s clients from around the world, and will evaluate market opportunities for this solution with various country units of Brightstar. The objective of this cooperation is to implement omni-channel solutions globally, together with Brightstar. Retailers, operators and dealers from around the world will be able to leverage our omnichannel technology in their stores to gain a stronger foothold in the “online” world.

“Brightstar is a firm believer in the benefits of omnichannel solutions for its customers and end consumers, and we are collaborating with Brodos to deploy and develop further the various components of the “Connected Store,” including the Kiosk, Online Store, ePOS system, my-Store.TV, Marketplace, ContentCard and StoreShip, to support retailers with a bricks-and-mortar footprint,” says Brodos CEO Dominik Brokelmann.

“We want to introduce Brodos’ platform to our mobile network operator customers around the world  because it’s a proven, cost-effective way of rapidly providing virtual inventory so our customers can be in in a position to offer consumers as much choice as possible”, says Bela Lainck, Brightstar’s President of Global Services.

The world’s largest wireless distributor has a local presence in 50 countries on six continents and supplies products and delivers services in more than 100 countries.

CONNECTED STORES TAKING OFF

As you can see with Brightstar, interest in our connected stores is growing, and no longer only in Germany. Our kiosk systems are sprouting like mushrooms. More and more retailers are deciding to integrate the cross-channel concept in their stores, building a bridge between online and offline. Our concept lets shop owners connect brick-and-mortar and online business. The Kiosk makes it possible for the longtail range, i.e. products which are only rarely asked for (C-products) to be displayed as well. This allows the retailer to make products not in stock in the store available to customers. Customers can then look at products there and arrange to have them delivered directly to their home or to the store for collection.

The connected store can be tailored to suit a wide range of different branches.

Alongside our touch screen kiosk, retailers setting up a connected store are also supplied with the kiosk online, i.e. their own onlineshop, allowing orders to be placed at the weekend as well and making it much easier for local stores to be found when searching online. This equips retailers perfectly for facing the future, combining the advantages  of offline and online. Service and advice are an additional advantage retailers have over pure etailers.
